Ross Macatangay, EVO ICL Patient Opera Singer | Curtis Institute of Music
Ross Macatangay is an opera singer and a student at the Curtis Institute of Music, where he has performed roles including Antonio in The Marriage of Figaro. Before surgery, he had nearly -10.00 diopters of myopia in both eyes.
After undergoing EVO ICL with Dr. Raymond Fong, Ross achieved 20/20 vision.
For years, he performed under bright stage lights without ever being able to clearly see the audience. Their applause was always there, but their faces remained a blur.
Returning to the stage, he could finally see the smiles, expressions, and reactions of the audience, allowing him to experience the connection between performer and audience in a way he never had before.
For an opera singer, seeing the audience became just as meaningful as hearing their applause.
